Meeting our service
Children and Young people enter the SEND service through a request for Education, Health and Care needs assessment (EHCNA) leading to an EHCP. On receiving the request, the family/young person get an allocated EHCP Coordinator. They coordinate processes and support and inform the child’s family/young person.
Requests for EHCNA can be sent to sen.team@cognus.org.uk
What can families expect from the service?
Sutton SEND Service Mission is for children and young people with Education, Health and Care plans (EHCP) to meet their potential. This includes them being effectively prepared for adulthood. Our SEND team coordinate the statutory processes. This is in sections 3 of the Children and Families Act 2014 and 9 of the SEND Code of Practice 2015.
We have an approachable, friendly and supportive team of EHCP coordinators. They will keep you informed throughout the processes and enable you to contribute. Your views, wishes and aspirations are central to the work we do.
How do I gain support if I have a question?
- Once you have an allocated EHCP coordinator, they will be your main point of contact
- In addition, there is free support, advice and information via SIASS (www.siass.co.uk – external link) who can be contacted on 0208 323 0462 or via email at sutton@siass.co.uk
