Lockdown Lessons Competition – winners revealed

More than 60 young residents in Sutton got creative during lockdown in Cognus’ creative competition. Today (28 July 2020), we reveal the winners.

Launched in June 2020, the ‘Lockdown Lessons’ competition was created for COVID-19 and invited children and young people to harness their creativity and express their feelings of being in lockdown over the past few months. The competition was originally open to children in year groups 2-5 and 7 and 8 who had not been invited back to school but it was extended to years 1 and 6 as well due to popular demand.

Talented and creative individuals across Sutton submitted amazing materials ranging from poems and letters to diary entries and artwork pieces, some of which celebrated our nation’s heroes.
The judges were impressed by the number and quality of the entries, as well as the wonderful and touching ways children and young people expressed their experiences during this difficult time.
Prizes included up to £25 book vouchers for the winners, plus up to £100 each for their school. All schools and young people will be sent their vouchers and donations and Cognus is working towards a celebration event in September.

Congratulations to all the winners and a huge thank you to everyone that took part.
