Festive fun at Cognus Families’ Christmas Event

More than 25 families enjoyed an afternoon at Cognus’ offices in Wallington on Monday 16th December, as we hosted our third Cognus Families’ Christmas Event.

This event was an opportunity for families we work with to attend an information fair covering many local services that support children and young people in Sutton, including Sutton Information, Advice and Support Service (SIASS), Cognus Therapies, Sutton Music Trust, Kingston Centre for Independent Living (KCIL) and the Fire Service.

Our staff also ran a range of free, fun and inclusive festive activities for children and young people, from early years through to Secondary and beyond, including a sensory den, Christmas arts and crafts, British Sign Language carols and music making and try and instrument. The highlight for many of our young guests was a visit to meet Santa and to receive a gift donated by our staff and local businesses.

Thank you to those that attended, including Cllr Marian James and Cllr Barry Lewis from London Borough of Sutton.

We had some lovely feedback from parents and carers too:

I can’t begin to tell you how much she enjoyed it!  It was absolutely amazing. Everyone went to so much trouble to make sure the children had a great time.  Thanks again.

Everyone was so welcoming and the kids absolutely loved having the freedom to explore different activities. Thank you for hosting such a wonderful event.

We had a wonderful time and wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
