About this course
Do you ever feel that you are reacting to a child rather than being proactive in your approach?
This is a 10-week online training programme giving you the knowledge to become an ‘Autism Champion’ in your setting.
The programme covers key topics in-depth, including:
- Autism theories
- Strategy toolbox
- Sensory differences
- Analysing behaviour
- Feelings and emotions
- Impact on learning
- Writing social stories
- Supporting families
- Explaining a diagnosis
You will also receive two follow-up group supervision sessions after the course.
Who should attend
This role may suit a SENCo, Teacher, member of SLT, or TA who would like to develop their knowledge around autism and inclusion.
As the programme is held virtually, this is open to staff members from any borough or school location.

The sessions take place on the following Wednesdays, between 2.30-4pm.
