Child Safeguarding Toolkit launch – 18 March 2021

The launch of the Child Safeguarding Toolkit has been moved from 21 January 2021 to Thursday 18 March 2021, 1-2pm.

Following the “reflective learning” event, after the public inquest into the tragic death of Ellie Butler, discussions followed about how to best take forward learning from the 10 key principles that emerged. Sutton CCG took the lead on setting up a Legacy project. The work of the CCG and LSCP has gone on to produce a unique and comprehensive “toolkit” which aims to support all those working with (or training to work with) children, young people and their families.

An animation was produced; setting out the 10 principles, conveyed through the voice of the child.  To further support this, an e-learning module was also developed.  A bespoke website (toolkit) has been created at www.childsafeguardingtoolkit.co.uk. This website holds the content which includes the animation, e-learning module and supporting resources. The website will be updated regularly to add new resources as they are developed and published.

We wanted to make you aware of this key resource as it will be used both locally and nationally going forward. We are hoping to embed this training for all new starters via Moodle and to give all staff the opportunity of completing the e-learning module. From 28 January, all staff will be able to access the resources on the website.  More information will follow.
