Sutton Virtual School are offering training sessions for new to role Designated Teachers (Children Looked After and Previously Looked After leads) . Please share this invitation with any appropriate staff in your school who would benefit from attending.
This training is specifically for any Sutton Designated teacher who is new to role or will be starting the role of Designated Teacher in September. We also welcome any designated teacher working with a Sutton Child Looked After in another Borough.

New to Role Designated Teacher training session – Wednesday 11th October 2023 3-4.30pm
We will cover the following:
- The role and responsibilities of the Designated Teacher within a school
- The statutory duties related to Children Looked After and Previously Looked After
- Taking a trauma informed approach to working with Children Looked After and Previously Looked After
- The role of the Virtual School, social worker and foster carer in supporting the education of a child in care
