Sit, Read & Discuss – I Will Not Be Erased by Gal Dem

This book will change your perspective.  I will not be erased: Stories about identity, sexuality, family, love, power and growing up as people of colour. The award winning and inspirational Gal-Dem have published a book representing unheard voices and stories from around the world from the often unseen. Join us at from the comfort of your home, to discuss exerts of the book and reflect what it means to be a person colour inhabiting planet earth.  You will leave this event enriched, motivated, learning and meeting others who are rowing the boat in the same direction.

By attending this event you will receive a FREE copy of I will not be erased.

Get into Loss Prevention (Security) with TK Maxx- For Ex-Offenders Only! (18-30)

The Prince’s Trust and TK Maxx are running a 2-week programme for young ex-offenders between the ages of 18-30 who have offended or at risk of offending. Young people will gain hands on training in store security, incident support, theft prevention, customer service/ interaction, employability skills and more! They will have the opportunity to potentially gain employment with TK Maxx after the programme.

Get Started with Games Design (16-25)
An amazing one week program for any young person ages 16-25, interested in unlocking their potential. Whilst on the course young people will, learn about the games industry,  pitch a design idea,  develop their confidence and self-esteem and have the opportunity to talk to artists and game developers from Sony Interactive Entertainment. Furthermore, after the week there will be the opportunity to gain a progression mentor, with support up to 6 months after the programme has finished and be eligible for a DA Award.

Welcome Session (16-30)

We are hosting fortnightly welcome sessions for young people who want to find out more information about The Prince’s Trust and our opportunities. These will be held through Microsoft Teams in a video conference format. Young people can watch the presentation and get involved as much as they want. Afterwards, a staff member will follow up 1:1 and progress them onto our programmes.

Get Started in Nails (16-30)
Learn how to create gorgeous nails and a business from your passion. You will receive accredited & recognised qualifications. Join us on this 8 day programme with theory and hands on classes. This programme will cover Luxury Manicures, UV Gel Polish & Rockstar Art.

This is subject to change following COVID-19 Guidelines.

Get Started in Animal Care (16-25)
The Prince’s Trust and Vauxhall City Farm are offering a FREE animal care course for young people who are not in education, training or employment and interested in gaining experience in animal care and welfare with a focus on farm animals.

Explore (16-25)

Explore is a 5-week personal development programme which offers young people group activities and one-to-one support to help build confidence, get motivated, meet new people and identify and achieve their goals. We also develop employability and independent living skills. Personal development qualifications are available in Interpersonal & Self-management Skills, Participating in Exercise, Healthy Lifestyle, Career Planning, Money Management, and Presentation Skills.

Get Started with London Zoo (16-25)
Join us at London Zoo to learn about and design an ethical animal enclosure! You’ll learn from the experts about the different elements of an animal enclosure that should be considered and work together to create a design for the Zoo!

Our Development Awards can cover the cost of course fees, tools or equipment up to £160 in order to help young people achieve their goals and move into education, training or employment. For more information, visit our website here.
